Josephine Lincoln Evans, age 81, of Arrington, died Saturday night December 22, 2007, in Richmond. Josephine was born November 25, 1925, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Ashby Abraham Lincoln and Julia Whitehead Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Billy) Evans, in 1985, and her five brothers and sisters. "Jo" was a loving mother to her two children Charles (Jackie) Evans and Betty (George) Hoffer, all of Richmond. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church at Myndus. Besides her children she is survived by four grandchildren, Michael Emil Hoffer, Meghan Elizabeth Hoffer, Matthew Grant Evans and Graham Lincoln Evans. Also her sister, Nancy L. Wright, of Lovingston and her sister-in-law Hardenia Lincoln of Arrington and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jackie Aikens, Dot Martin and Sarah Wood for their watchful and loving eyes and care over Josephine. A funeral service will be held Thursday December 27, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Carroll Welch officiating with Interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
