Doris Marshall, 87, of Abingdon, Ill., passed away Friday, April 4, 2008, at 3:25 p.m. at the Care Center of Abingdon, Abingdon, Ill.

She was born Dec. 14, 1920, in rural Avon, Ill., the daughter of Allen and Nellie Shinkel Lincoln. She married Henry Q. Marshall on March 15, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her on Nov. 21, 1993.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Clarelene) Marshall of Avon; two daughters, Deane (Duane) Serven of St. Augustine and Darla (David) Taylor of Abingdon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilford Lincoln of Abingdon; two sisters, Louise Byerly of Avon and Maribelle Fitch of Mendota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was born and raised in the Avon area and graduated from Avon High School. She farmed with her husband in the Avon area all her married life.

She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, where she was active serving as secretary for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening and making crafts. Her main joy was watching her grandchildren grow and attending their many activities.

Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery, Avon, Ill.
