KATHERINE LIMING COMPTON, 88, of EATONTOWN, died Monday, March 31, at home. She was a parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch, where she also served as an Eucharistic minister. Born in Long Branch, she had lived in Eatontown for the past 60 years.
Katherine was predeceased by her two sons, Michael Compton and Gerald Furness; and a daughter, Mary Ann Sperry. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Compton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jean Compton of Bayville, Berkeley, Kenneth and Ann Compton of Brick, and Benjamin Compton of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Lynn Furness of Toms River; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Avenue), Long Branch. A Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Jerome Church, Wall Street, West Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.
