Passed away at age 88 at Marquette General Hospital after a brief illness.

Daughter of Rufus A. Lillard and Nellie (Martin) Lillard.

Graduated from high school in Rossville.

Worked in Topeka where she met her husband. During World War II she worked briefly in California's aircraft industry until her husband was sent overseas, then settled in Iowa to care for her daughter and wait for her husband's return. After the war she moved with her family to California until her husband's death in 1985.

1989 she moved to Marquette, where she resided for her last 12 years close to her daughter and family, all of whom she was very proud.

As an RSVP volunteer, she crocheted lap robes for those in wheelchairs, occasionally participating in workshops at the Women's Center. She was committed to the work of the Women's Center, the movement it represents and proudly helped celebrate its 25th anniversary in 1998. An exceptionally kind and caring person, she was a strong advocate of human rights.
