Cora M. Lightner, 89, wife of Charles A. Lightner, of 424 W. Sixth St., Waynesboro, and formerly of Buffalo, NY., died at 12:47 a.m. today, Nov 8, in the Quincy United Methodist Home. She had been in ill health for the last three months and entered the home Aug 31.

She was born Aug 6, 1900, in Troy, NY., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Peartree. She had lived at her present residence for the last 12 years.

She and her husband were married Aug 24, 1924 in Trenton, NJ.

Mrs. Lightner was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro and the National AARP.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, John A. Lightner of Huddlestown, Va., five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Armond Peartree of Spring House, and one nephew.

It was Mrs. Lightner's request that there be no viewing. However, friends will be received at the Snyder Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Thomas Hemler. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore, NY., at the convenience of the family.

The family requests that flowers be omitted but contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St. Chambersburg. Pa 17201
