Mrs. Velma Lorraine Towers, age 78 of Cleveland, White County, Georgia, formerly of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on April 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George and Edna Nyman Lightcap. Mrs. Towers was the Supervisor of Volunteer Services with Doctor's Hospital in Florida for many years, a member of the local American Legion, Roy Head Post where she was avid in Bingo, and also was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Towers, sister, Dorothy Hess, and a brother, Doug Lightcap.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Debbi Towers, Cleveland, GA; and a brother, Gerald Lightcap, Kansas.

Mrs. Towers' wishes were to be cremated and no service was planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial donations be made to the Smithgall Woods Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 2090 Cleveland, Georgia 30528.
