Dorothy G. Parsons, after many years in pain, Dorothy left us to join family and friends in Heaven. Dorothy was born in Delavan, MN on May 8, 1915 to Sena and Oliver Lien. She and Lloyd celebrated their 90th birthdays and 65th anniversary on May 8th this year. After graduating high school, Dorothy moved to the "big city" of Minneapolis, MN to work. Montgomery Wards was one of her jobs. Being a bit adventurous, she quit and went to work at Yellowstone National Park. Dorothy met Lloyd in Blue Earth where she worked and they married May 5, 1940 at the Little Brown church in Nashua, Iowa. They moved to Seattle in 1941 where Lloyd worked in the shipyard. In 1944, Dorothy, Kay and Judy went to Delavan while Lloyd served in the Sea Bees. They returned to Seattle and spent their remaining years. Surviving Dorothy are her loving husband of 65 years, Lloyd V. Parsons; daughters, Kay Jerry McAvinew and Judy Parsons; son, Jeff Sally Parsons; grandchildren, Tony Karen McAvinew, Tracy Tim Powell, Maureen Michael Busby, Chris Parsons Liz Browning; great grandchildren, Mason and Mackenzie Powell, Sydney McAvinew; sister, Shirley Lien. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, she loved to cook, bake and entertain. She sewed and did lovely needlework. Dorothy loved her family. We will miss her so much. Funeral Service is planned for Tuesday, 10/18/05 at 10:00 AM at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787.
