Staten Island native Amelia (Millie) Licata, 100, of 1022 NE 25th Avenue, Hallandale Beach, FL, died Saturday at Aventura (FL) Hospital and Medical Center.

Born Amelia Cellilo, she grew up in South Beach, where she later raised her family. She lived in the community until 1969, when she relocated to Hallandale Beach.

A homemaker, Mrs. Licata also worked in a dress factory during World War II.

She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos in Florida, family said.

"I always considered myself very lucky to have a mother all these years," said her son, Frank Licata.

Mrs. Licata was a former parishioner of Holy Rosary R.C. Church in South Beach.

Her husband, Joseph, died in 1982.

Surviving, along with her son, Frank, are her son, Alfred; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from the A. Azzara Funeral Home, South Beach, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church.
Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
