Mrs. Tom Boazman.
After a lingering illness, Mrs. Tom Boazman died this morning at 8 o’clock at her home on North Ninth Street (Opelika).
Before her marriage she was Miss Sallie Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis, of Shady Grove. On November the first, 1864, she was married to Mr. Tom Boazman at the home of her parents near Shady Grove church. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are now living. The living children are R. M. Boazman, of Lineville; Mark Boazman, of this city; Mrs. Stella Meadors, of LaFayette; Dr. J. B. Boazman, of Augusta; Mrs. Ed Jones, of Lineville; Tom Boazman, of this city; and two sons who are now dead, John Boazman and Toker Boazman.
At the time of her death Mrs. Boazman was 70 years of age. For 35 years she had been a consecrated member of the Christian Church. Besides her grief-stricken husband and children, Mrs. Boazman is survived by three brothers, J. M. Lewis, of Baltimore; J. A. Lewis of Trenton, Tenn., D. D. Lewis, of Sycamore and two sisters, Mrs. R. A. Lindsey and Mrs. S. C. Dunn, both of this city.
The funeral services will take place from the residence at 9:30 o’clock tomorrow (Friday) morning. The interment will be at the family burying ground at Shady Grove cemetery. Rev. J. H. Wallace officiating. – Opelika Daily News, Sept. 10th
