Mrs. Boagni was the former Julia Lewis. She was born Sept. 1, 1866, the daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. E. T. Lewis of Opelousas. Her father was judge of the present St. Landry district court which at the time he was on the bench, comprised much of the Attakapas Territory.
Mrs. Boagni's late husband, was a prominent cattle breeder, planter and businessman of Opelousas.
She was a member of the Episcopal Women of the Church and was the oldest member of the church.
Mrs. Boagni is survived by four sons, First Assistant U.S. Atty. Edward V. Boagni of Shreveport, Paul, Walter, and Joseph M. Boagni Jr., all of Opelousas; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Smith and Mrs. Adrian Walker, both of Opelousas, and Mrs. J. A. Jung[e] of Dallas, Tex.
