A resident and native of Port Allen, she died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at 3:50 p.m. of cancer at Sterling Place Nursing Home. She was 69. Visiting at Scott's United Methodist Church, Port Allen, on Sunday, June 17, from 5 p.m. until religious service at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Willie Laws. Dismissal on Monday at 11 a.m. with interment in the church cemetery. Survived by her two daughters, Karen Thomas of Port Allen and Adrinne Woods of Baton Rouge; son, Mayor Derek A. Lewis of Port Allen; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Odette Mangum of Port Allen; three brothers, Isadore Jr., Johnny and Clarence Lewis, all of Port Allen; son-in-law, Nolan Woods Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ora Gail Lewis; and brother-in-law, Lestly Collins Sr. Preceded in death by her parents, Isadore Sr. and Cornelia Lewis; husband, Isiah Courtney; sister, Lealer Collins; and an infant son. Hall Davis & Son Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
