STEPHEN S. LEWIS was the son of Stephen and Anna Morgan Lewis of Tannery, Lewis County, Kentucky.
He was united in marriage with Margaret Ferguson on December 5, 1867. They were the parents of William D. Lewis, Sarah Lewis McGlone, Cynthia Lewis Bloomfield, Basil Lewis and Ella Lewis, who was married to Fielden R. Armstrong and Stephen Lewis.
The 1880 Census lists Stephen as "Married to Margaret and Farming."
Stephen died at Laurel on May 21, 1918 of "Paralysis," there was no doctor present. He was married at his death and buried at the Bloomfield Cemetery at Rugless, Lewis County, Kentucky.
