Dolly Gardner Lewis, 91, of Vanceburg, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
Born October 10, 1916, in Lewis County, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Eliza Evans Gardner, and the widow of Fred M. Lewis, who died in 1933. She was a homemaker and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of Vanceburg Church of God and Lewis County Senior Citizens. Survivors include a son, Charles "Chick" (Dorothy) Lewis of Vanceburg; two daughters, Eleanor Evans and Linda Sue Gilbert, both of Vanceburg; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Gardner of Vanceburg.
Services were conducted Saturday, April 26, at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Bro. Edison Buchanan and Rev. Chris Gilbert officiated. Burial was in Evans Cemetery on Town Branch.
