WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Barbara Leishman Brandon, 91, passed away at her home on May 9, 2005.

She was born February 9, 1914 in Wellsville, Utah a daughter of Thomas and Martha Archibald Leishman. She married Boyd Lund Brandon on December 12, 1942 in Preston, Idaho. They were the parents of three children. Boyd passed away on December 15, 1985.

She was a life long resident of Wellsville. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in various callings. She was employed in the school lunch program. She was known as The Lunch Lady for more that 15 years. She was a very good cook. Grandchildren would often fight over the last piece of black cap pie. When visitors would leave her house she would send with them homemade bread and vegetables from her garden. One of her greatest joys in life was serving people food.

She has marked over 7,000 quilts and has quilted many quilts. Her quilts are a legacy that she has left to each member of her family. Each Christmas, she would give a quilt to each grandchild. She didnt forget the great-grandchildren, making doll quilts for their dolls. Quilting frames, eyeglasses, thimbles and needles were a staple at her house.

She is known by how she lived and served in her life. She was a strong, independent woman, who served her husband, family and church. Her sense of humor and sayings were loved by all those who knew her. She loved her Friday lunch ladies and looked forward each week to their lunch. We will miss her statement Look what blew in when we would visit her. We would like to thank all those who helped her in these last years, with her lawn mowing, snow removal or anything else she needed.

She is survived by a son and two daughters, Larry and Violet Brandon, Centerville; Shawna and Gerry Irwin, Stockton, CA; Jana Kae Brandon, Logan; six grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thrusday, May 12 at the Wellsville Stake Center. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family and guestbook signed at Allen Mortuaries.
