Betty Porteous Born Jan. 2, 1919 in Dolgeville, NY, Betty graduated as an RN from Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Albany, NY. She met her husband Donald at Asbury College and leaves him after 64 years of marriage and 3 children, David in CT, Donald in TX and Kathy in FL. Betty was an accomplished nursing school teacher, public health nurse, college nurse and volunteer RN at Clearwater's Free Clinic. She was active in churches across Michigan and Florida where Donald served as a United Methodist minister. They had three grand-daughters and one great-grandson. Betty's honesty, wit, compassion, playfulness, and love will be missed. A memorial service will occur at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor on Saturday, Jan. 19th at 2:00 with inurnment to follow. Rev. David Landers of Heritage United Methodist Church will lead the service.
