William Martin Leifheit, son of August and Catherine (Neutzling) Leifheit, was born 14 January 1878 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He married Elizabeth Reuter, daughter of Valentine and Pauline (Schoenlein) Reuter, on 18 September 1901. Elizabeth was born ca 1876. William was first a coal miner and later a loader in the coal mine. They were the parents of seven children: Florence, Catherine, Ruth, Ernest, Earl, Ethel and Lucille. William died 17 December 1946 in Pomeroy, Ohio, at 67 years, 11 months and 3 days. He is buried in Beech Grove Cemetery, Pomeroy, Ohio.
