Bertha A. Ecoff
A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Camas for Bertha A. Ecoff, who died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, in Vancouver of heart problems and complications from a stroke. She was 92.
Mrs. Ecoff, a Camas-area resident since 1942, worked in the bag factory at the Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas. She retired in 1971 after 25 years with the company.
Her husband, Leroy, died in 1969.
Mrs. Ecoff was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Nez Perce, Idaho.
She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and reading.
She was a member of many organizations including the Crown Zellerbach Golden Crown Club, the 25-Year Club, Rebekah Lodge, Washougal Grange and the 49ers Travel Club. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a past president and district deputy of the Pythian Sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Myrna L. Hauzenberger of Vancouver and Hazel M. Reude of Washougal; three sons, Robert D. of Gresham, Ore., and Mervyn L. and Gary L., both of Washougal; one sister, Mary Lou Morton of Lakeport, Calif.; one brother, Lawrence W. Lehr of Camas; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open until 8 tonight, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be in Camas Cemetery.
