Lois Elaine Gross, 85, of Wellsville, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Manor Care North. She was the loving wife of Clair F. Gross. The couple observed their 65th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2011.
Lois was born April 4, 1926, in Dover Township, a daughter of the late Earl S. and Florence (Westhafer) Lehr.
She retired from Dentsply where she worked in inventory control. Previously, Lois and her husband owned and operated the Rainbow Restaurant in Spring Grove and Warrington Kennels in Wellsville. She was a member of Dover United Church of Christ. Lois enjoyed cooking and in her younger years, sewing. She was also a dog lover.
In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by a daughter, Carol Best of Davidsonville, Md.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Weinrich of Davidsonville, Md.; a grandson, Richard Best of Uniontown; and a great-granddaughter, Sorcha Best. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Lehr.
Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover.
