Funeral services will be held in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel for Lydia Guidry, age 70, the former Lydia Leger, who died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Charles N. Trahan "Rev. Nikki", pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, will officiate at the services.
Ms. Guidry was a native of Port Barre and a resident of Turkey Creek for the past 14 years.
Survivors include her four sons, Harold James Estilette and his wife Lynn of Opelousas, Raphael Estilette Sr. and his wife Janice of Port Barre, Donald Jude Estilette Sr. and his wife Sheila of Turkey Creek, and Malcolm Estilette Jr. and his wife Priscilla of Port Barre; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; four sisters, Delphine Lagrange of Leonville, Virgie Joubert and her husband Bernie of Opelousas, Lorena Arnaud and her husband Felton "Myo" of Port Barre, and Lelia Robin and her husband Johnny of Leonville; and one sister-in-law, Vella Leger of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Leger Sr. and the former Louisiana Doucet both natives of St. Landry Parish; her first husband, Malcolm Estilette Sr.; her second husband, Joseph A. Guidry; three brothers, Willie Leger, Raymond Leger, and Louis Leger Jr.; and one sister, Hazel Brade.
