A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Lillian Leger Goodwin, 95 at 10:00 a. m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be today, Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be from 8:00 am until the time of service.

Mrs. Goodwin died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:00 p.m. in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Goodwin was a native of Church Point and resident of Jennings, She was a graduate of Iota High School. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and St. Martha's Guild. She was a retired nurse's aide and seamstress. Mrs. Goodwin was a fantastic cook, devoted mother and grandmother and loved her family gatherings.

She is survived by two daughters; Wilma LeJeune and husband Donald of Tee-Mamou, La., Linda Robertson and husband Bruce of Metairie, La., three sons; Darrell Goodwin and wife Ruth of Jennings, La., Byron Goodwin and wife Linda of Tomball, Tx., and Donald Goodwin and wife Kunnie of Jennings, La., one brother, Whitney Leger of Lafayette, La., a half-brother, Mitchell Leger and three half-sisters; Jeanette Klump, Nell Liebert and Jolene Martin, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysse and Elmire LeJeune Leger and her husband, Wilbur "Hook" William Goodwin.
