ALFORD, Pauline (Pat) 80, of Holiday, FL, formerly of Lake Station, IN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug 20, 2012. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Orville, two brothers, William Leger and Glen Leger, and one sister, Gladys Mae Alsip, and her parents Frank and Julia Leger and step-mother Nannie Jenkins Leger. She is survived by her son Joseph Alford (Susan) of Bloomington, IL, and her daughters Peggy Drews Propsom (Peter) of Lake Station, IN, Sherry Alford of Holiday, FL, and Debra Janine Zchowerski (Dan) of CO. She leaves behind her brother, Robert Leger (Barbara) of Knox County, KY, and sister-in-law Mildred Leger of Louisvile, KY. She is survived by six grand-children, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holiday, FL. She taught at Lake Ridge Schools (Black Oak) for 36 years. She was a member of the Meshowke-To-Quah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Magna Carta Dames. She was also a member of the College Club of the Gary area and of the Lake Station Historical Society. Visitation for Pauline is 6-8 PM on Friday, Aug 24, 2012, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Lung Association.
