BAXTER Funeral services for Bernadean "Dean" Leftwich, 67, of Baxter will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, from the Baxter chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Leftwich died on Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 25, 1936 in Putnam County to the late Leffel Waller Dyer Sr. and the late Minnie Ann Bush Dyer. Mrs. Leftwich was a filter assembler with Fleetguard Inc. of Cookeville. She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Cookeville.
Her family includes five daughters and sonsinlaw, Debra and Dennis Chaffin of Cookeville, Betty Ann and Mike Custer of Mt. Juliet, Myra and John Jones of Gainesboro, Paula and Donnie Burgess of Baxter and Francene and Billy Joor of
Greenbriar, Tenn.; two sons and daughtersinlaw, Steve and Linda Leftwich of Baxter and Shawn and Tammy Leftwich of Cookeville; three sisters, Mary Pearl Exum of Dearborn, Mich., Genora Exum of Grass Lake, Mich., and Carol Harper of Brooklyn, Mich.; two brothers, Billy Joe Dyer of
Michigan City, Ind., and Leffel W. Dyer Jr. of Cookeville; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer Chaffin, Clinton Hurst, Kachai Mayer, Miranda Custer, Julie Johnson, Kendra and Richard Burgess, Adam and Dylan Joor, Megan, Hannah, Kelsey, Katie and Regan Leftwich, and Christopher Hickey; and three greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leftwich was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Alexander Leftwich, who died Nov. 25, 1998.
