Mary Ellen Anderson, 72, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008, after an extended illness. Mary was born in Omega, Ohio, on January 24, 1936, to the late Willard and Beatrice Leffler. She lived in or around Omega most of her life. On October 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Walter F. Anderson, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Walter M. Anderson and wife Doris, of Waverly, James T. Anderson and wife Paula, of Waverly and Jeffrey A. Anderson and wife Debbie, of Hillsboro, Ohio. Mary dearly loved her eight grandchildren, Joshua Anderson, Melissa Payton, Matthew Anderson, Heidi Boone, Heather Kee, Tiffany Yelley, Jill McFadden and Cody Elam. Mary also loved and was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Morgan Boone, Andrew Payton, Allison Payton and Olivia Kee. Mary was the sister of Gordon Leffler and wife Goldie, of Waverly, Billy Leffler and wife Judy, of Waverly, Marvin Leffler and wife Gail, of Waverly, Barbara Kershner and husband Michael, of Independence, Ohio, and the late Wilma Patterson, of Chillicothe, Ohio.
Mary was the second elder and long-term member of the Omega Church of Christ in Christian Union. She actively participated and was secretary of the Rebekah Lodge # 467 of Waverly.
Services were entrusted to Boyer Funeral Home of Waverly, Ohio.
