Freda Lee Bell 1914 ~ 2006

Freda Lee Bell, 91, was born October 20, 1914 to Parley James and Susannah Jenette Taylor Lee in Panguitch, Utah. She passed away on July 16, 2006 in St. George, Utah, after a long and full life. She was the fourth of seven children and dearly loved her brothers and sisters.

She was educated in the Panguitch schools and at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She was always a good student and even received a double promotion one year. She married Joseph Oren Bell on June 23, 1933, (They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple). They were the parents of three daughters, Barbara, Joan and Paula. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1989.

Joe and Freda enjoyed doing everything together from camping, to gardening, to entertaining grandchildren, to serving in the Church and will be happy to be together again. She was an outstanding homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in the LDS Church and DUP throughout her life. She served a mission with Joe in 1980 - 81 in the Mississippi Jackson Mission, taught in many auxiliaries and served as Primary President, Young Women's President and as a Relief Society President. She always loved being a Visiting Teacher.

Freda loved having her grandchildren and neighborhood children at her home and taught them many things including cooking, gardening, crocheting, how to put in a full days work, how important a good work ethic was and most important to her, the Articles of Faith. She loved learning, and continued to learn, memorize, and read her entire life.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hunt, Enterprise, Utah and Paula (Tom) Allen, Kaysville, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grand-children, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Oren, her daughter, Joan Randall, her son-in-law, Larry Hunt and five of her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006, 10 a.m., Washington 4th Ward Chapel, 82 North Main, Washington, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., prior to the services at the chapel.

Interment will be in the Panguitch City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221.

Condolences may be sent to the family through the Metcalf website at
