Pearl J. Anderson, 91, of Northwood, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at
the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the First Lutheran
Church, 309 North 9th Street, Northwood, with Rev. Paul Holmer officiating.
Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.

Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Pearl J. Anderson was born on Sept. 8, 1912, in Ellendale, Minnesota,
the daughter of Henry and Inga (Hatle) Lee. Pearl grew up on the family
farm near Ellendale, and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1931.
Pearl also graduated from Mankato State Teachers College in 1935.
After completing her schooling she taught school prior to getting married.

She married Russell Anderson on July 2, 1944, in Northwood. After their
marriage Pearl was a loving housewife and mother until resuming her
teaching as a special needs teacher at Northwood in 1962. She also
taught 3rd and 4th grade in Myrtle and Glenville, Minnesota, until her
retirement in 1976.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, ladies aid and church circle
in Northwood, VFW legion auxiliary in Northwood, retired teachers
association and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gerald (Mary) Anderson of
Faribault, Minnesota, Ron (Joyce) Anderson of Estherville, Iowa, Don
(Pam) Anderson of Northwood, John (Lana) Anderson of Northwood, and
Steven (Sharyl) Anderson of Thompson; 11 grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren; two brothers, Jerome (Evelyn) Lee of Ellendale and
Herbert Lee of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Chester Anderson
of Kensett and a sister-in-law, Irene Anderson of Northwood; many
nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Anderson
on Nov. 28, 1999; sisters, Ardis Thompson, Esther Johnson, Oriet
Johnson, Bernice Lee, Irene Hokanson, and twin sisters who died in
infancy.
