Sadie Eugenia Gookin Lee, 88, of Blytheville, Ark., died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville.
Born Aug. 7, 1915, in Caruthersville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Virgle Eugean and Ethel Pauline Anglin Gookin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Clarence Lee; two brothers, John W. Gookin and Clyde L. Gookin; and five sisters, Martha G. Gookin, Audry P. Gookin, Lottie G. Self, Hazel G. Long and Mary G. Lowerins.
She was of the Pentecostal faith and helped her daughter in her daycare.
Mrs. Lee leaves one son, Earl Lee and his wife Hilda, of Blytheville; One daughter, Pauline Goolsby, of Blytheville; Seven brothers: James R. Gookin, Billie Joe Gookin and Clarence W. Gookin, all of Piggott, Ark., Jerry H. Gookin of Ft. Smith, Ark., Robert W. Gookin of California, Edward L. Gookin of Mabelvale, Ark. and Virgie L. Gookin of Panama City, Fla.; Two grandchildren: Mike Lee of Steele, and Pam Ricciardi of Tampa, Fla.; Four great-grandchildren: Chris Lee of Monette, Ark., Lauren Stearns of Austin, Texas, and Ryan Ricciardi and Chase Ricciardi, both of Tampa; and One great-great-grandchild, Teagan Lee of Monette.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lee were held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. David Ross officiating.
Burial was at the Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
