Mrs. E. A. Dupree dead
Mrs. E. A. Dupree, a most estimable old Christian lady and one of the land marks of this section, passed away last Wednesday morning at seven o'clock at her little cottage home in the northern part of this city, where for a half century past she had quietly lived. Her death resulted from old age, the deceased being in her 87th year when the Final Messenger came. Several months ago she was stricken with paralysis and although it was not the immediate cause of her death yet she has been gradually wasting away, and when the end came it was not a surprise to those around her. Mrs. Dupree belonged to one of the most prominent families of this section and her death brings sorrow and sadness to many bound to her in ties of kindred and blood. Her funeral was held from the Baptist church, to which she always belonged, last Thursday morning and the interment was in Friendship Cemetery.
