Lillian M. Dean, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:45 A.M., Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Lillian was a homemaker and had worked at McCollum Pharmacy for twenty years. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin. She was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and a choir member for many years. She was also a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.
She was born September 10, 1924 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of John and Martha (Hutton) Lee.
She married William E. Dean on August 15, 1943 at Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1991.
She is survived by one daughter - Sharon Poiter and husband Bill of Du Quoin, two grandsons - Brandon Poiter and wife Stephanie and Michael Poiter and wife Jennifer, all of Du Quoin, two great grandchildren - Audrey and Sydney, sister-in-law - Martha Dean of Du Quoin, several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by Sandra Schubert, Nancy Ragland, Bobbie Huntley and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers - Jimmy, Bud, and John, and two sisters - Iona and Emily.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Michael Ebersohl and Msgr. Harry J. Jerome officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, American Heart Association, or the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
