Charles C. Ledford, 51, of Cherokee, died Friday, June 15, 2007, at Mission Hospitals, Memorial Campus, in Asheville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home, with the Revs. James "Red" Bradley and James "Bo" Parris officiating. Burial was in Birdtown Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee, he was a son of the late Moses and Cordelia Murphy Ledford. He was a woodworker and local craftsman for several years.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Marie Ledford; and one brother, James D. Ledford.
Surviving are one son, Clinton Lee Ledford of Cherokee; two stepsons, Roger Piper and Shawn Piper, both of Cherokee; three sisters, Irma Bradley and Mary Ledford, both of Cherokee, and Carol Howard of Old Fort; three brothers, Virgil Ledford and Riley Ledford, both of Cherokee, and Moses Ledford Jr. of Windsor; and three grandchildren.
