Our community was shocked on Saturday afternoon by the sudden death of a very promising and bright little boy, Willie Leverton, aged about 13 years, son of Wilson Leverton, Esq. On Wednesday last he attended school, apprently in his usual good health but in the afternoon complained of feeling sick. His teacher sent him home, but death had already sealed him for his own, and rapidly grew worse despite the aid of physicians and friends, and died as stated above. His funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends and school children, who deeply sympathize with his sorrowing parents. IL State Journal, SPringfield, IL 10-27-1874
