HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC - Patsy was stricken very suddenly with a massive brain hemorrhage in her beloved Hilton Head Island home where she and her husband have been visitors and home-owners since 1964. She died immediately and donated her organs to the Organ Bank.

Patsy was born to Vincent Sebastian Brennan and Mattie Pratt Brennan in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport and from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, La. with a BS in Political Science and History. Patsy was on the national debating team at both institutions.

Patsy met Philip at a Cotillion Club dance at the Officers Club at Barksdale Air Force Base where Philip Learned was stationed as a B-47 bomber pilot. They were married on June 08, 1957 in Shreveport, La.

Patsy is survived by their two children; Alise Learned Mahr (Bill) and Norman Jackson Learned 111 (Esq.) Both were born in Charlottesville, Va. where Patsy supported Philip through Univ. of Virginia, School of Law.

Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Amanda Brennan Mahr, Margaret Anne Mahr, Philip Carleton Learned 11 and Carl Learned all from Elmira, NY.

Patsy is also survived by her southern family, her brother Vincent Sebastian Brennan, Jr. (Gloria) , Aunt, Mrs. E.G. Johnson of Shreveport and Natchitoches, La., cousins Dr. Ed Johnson and Dr. Nancy Johnson of Shreveport, Don Pratt of Haughton, La. and Ben Pratt of Natchitoches, La.

She was predeceased by her father, Vincent Sebastian Brennan and mother, Mattie Pratt Brennan of Shreveport, La.

A celebration of Patsy's life was held on Hilton Head Island on April 27, 2007.
