Death of Dr. Leake
News has been received here of the death of Dr. N K Leake of New Haven Monday. It is said that he went out on the river in a skiff which capsized and threw him into the water. He swam to a tree and held on to it for two or three hours, while workmen were constructing a raft to rescue him. He was brought ashore alive, but died soon afterwards probably from cold and exhaustion.
