| Birth: | Jul. 8, 1833 Zanesville Muskingum County Ohio, USA | | Death: | Feb. 10, 1903 Mills County Iowa, USA |  Josiah Leake was born in Ohio, and when a child moved with his parents to Morgan County, Ohio, where he grew to manhood. While living in Morgan County he married Sarah C Applebee on 21 Feb 1858.
Josiah and Sarah had three children; Anna Elizabeth (Stevens), Aaron (who died as a young child in Ohio), and Mary Leona (Norris).
He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting as a Private on 20 Feb 1864 at the age of 29 years. He mustered in Co B 36th Ohio Infantry on the same day of his enlistment. Josiah was discharged for disability on 15 May 1865 by order of the War Department.
The family moved to Virginia in 1873 and remained there until 1883 when they moved to Malvern. After coming to Malvern he frequently preached the Gospel.
Sarah died in 1892. In 1898 he married a widow with children; Emma (Baldwin) Reams. Emma died in 1913.
For several years he had been in declining health following an attack of pneumonia and Josiah died at the home of his daughter, Mary, in 1903 at the age of 69 years.
