Emily met and married her husband, Ted Konen, in 1940. In 1949, the family moved to Quincy, Wash. where Emily worked in retail and later retired from the Quincy School District as a secretary.
Emily is survived by her sons, Larry (Muriel) Konen of Naches, Wash. and Phillip Konen of Eugene Oregon; her twin sister, Dorothy Carpenter, and sister, Kathleen Schlecht, both of Longview, Wash.; three granddaughters, Veronica Smith of Deer Park, Wash., Stephanie St. Martin of Yakima, and Jennifer Hadley of Bonney Lake, Wash.; five great grandchildren and 3 great great grandsons.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, and brother, Arthur B. Leach.
A Rosary Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church, 206 Moxee Avenue, Naches, Wash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 25 at St. John's Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow the service in the church reception center.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Quincy Valley Cemetery, Quincy, Wash.
