Gene Andrew LeRoy, 74, of Ely died on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in Duluth.
He graduated from Ely Memorial High School in 1956 and worked in the mining industry until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, traveling in his mini motor home and motorcycling with his friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn; his son, Dale; and sisters, Elizabeth Ransom and Kathleen Wiinikainen.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Roy J and Elsie M (Paappanen) Leroy, and his brother Daniel LeRoy.
