BETHEL — Vivianne M. Belhumeur, 84, formerly of Southbury, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Bethel Healthcare in Bethel, which she called home for the past nine years. She was the widow of Roger E. Belhumeur.

Vivianne was born November 11, 1930, in Blackstone, Mass., a daughter of the late Emil and Rose (Pincince) Lepine.

She married Roger E. Belhumeur on September 11, 1951 at St. Theresa’s in Blackstone, Mass. They were happily married for 53 years.

She was employed at U.S. Keds as an inspector during her early years, helping to support her family while Roger was serving in the Korean War, and was a dedicated mother and housewife.

During those years she volunteered at Peekskill Hospital in Peekskill, N.Y., and Blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Shrub Oak, N.Y., where she and her husband had lived for more than 25 years before moving to Southbury.

Vivianne enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards with family and of course her trips to the casino.

She leaves her son, Dennis Belhumeur and his wife, Cheryl Mas, of Naugatuck; her daughter, Louise Vargas and her husband, Alberto, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; her sisters, Theresa Menard of Medfield, Mass. and Lucille Aubin of Woonsocket, R.I.; her brother, Maurice Lepine of Woonsocket, R.I.; her grandchildren, Melanie Belhumeur and Jason Barker of Buzzards Bay, Mass., Scott and his wife, Jenny Belhumeur, of Waterbury, Christopher and his wife, Stefanie Vargas, of Madisonville, Ky., and Jeffrey and his wife, Lauren Vargas of Verplank, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren, Emma and Jack Barker of Buzzards Bay and Ella, Madelyn and Lillian Vargas of Madisonville, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond, Robert and Edward Lepine.

A memorial Mass took place October 24 at Sacred Heart Church, followed by burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, both in Southbury. Arrangements were by the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere.
