Madelon L. Cunningham, 88, went gently home to be with her Lord on June 22, 2009. She died peacefully in the company of her daughter, Susan, and her granddaughter, Amy Grosselin and husband, Charlie Grosselin, who had been her loving caregivers for more than two years, and with whom she had been living at 160 Crestwood Court, Belpre.
Madelon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a life of service and sacrifice for her family. She was a long-time, active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a bridge club and the Oxbow Ladies Golf Association. Until her retirement, she was secretary to the personnel director of the IRS, Parkersburg office.
Madelon was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Marie (Taylor) LeMasters and Ernest William LeMasters; her two brothers, Ernest Wm. (Bill) and Gerald (Jug) LeMasters; and by her husband, Charles E. Cunningham.
Surviving family members include her two children, Susan M. Moellendick and Mark E. Cunningham; her five grandchildren, Amy Grosselin, Benton and Jeff Cunningham, Erin Cunningham-Beatty and Eli A. Wooten; as well as five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be two hours prior to her memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, all at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710 23rd Street, Parkersburg. Mom's ashes will be scattered privately by her family. Due to allergies, the family requests that visitors refrain from wearing scented products to the visitation or the memorial service.
The Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
