The Reverend Ben LeMaster made his transition to heaven peacefully. He was born in Redbush Kentucky to Proctor and Nora LeMaster and grew up on the family farm in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Ben graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1945 and Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1950.
Pastor Ben actively served as an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene for 53 years in Redwood Falls, Minnesota; Leavenworth, Kansas; Fresno, California; Santa Maria, California; and Denver, Colorado.
His life was centered on his family and his ministry. He loved people and was loved by those who knew him to the very end of his life. Ben was affectionately known by his family as honey, dad, grandpa, and GG pop and by his congregations as Pastor LeMaster, Pastor Ben, and by all as friend.
His warm and friendly approach was remarkable and recognized by everyone he came in contact with. He was gifted as a preacher and counselor and was an encouragement to thousands of people.
Ben and Juanita (Cross) were married on August 12, 1944, and for 65 years modeled a strong marriage by demonstrating unconditional love and commitment to each other and their family.
Ben and Juanita have four children, Benjamin and his wife Katherine, Gary and his wife Orinda, Dennis and Monica. They have six grandchildren, Shondra and her husband Jason, Jarret and his wife Christina, Lindsay and her husband Josh, Bradley, Brittany, Katie; and five great grandchildren, Emeryn, Jaidyn, Camryn, Rohna, and Liam.
The family would like to thank the staff of Elim Alzheimer's Living Center in Fresno for their care of Ben while he was in residence. In addition we would like to thank Asera Care Hospice staff for their service to and support of Ben and to each of us during his transition from this life to the next. "For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is as hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give me on that Day..." (II Timothy 4:6-8 NKJV)
