LAYMAN, Ernest Melvin
Frostburg - Ernest M. Layman, 69, retired mail carrier, died this morning at his home in Borden Shaft. He suffered a stroke of paralysis last night.
Mr. Layman was a son of Mrs. Annie L. Layman, Borden Shaft, and the late George Layman.
He held membership in Mountain City Council No. 11, Junior O. U..A. M. Surviving, besides his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Mary (Harvey) Layman; a son, Major Ernest Layman, serving with the Army in Japan; two. daughters, Mrs. Charles Norris, Baltimore, and Mrs. Milton Smith, Sunnybrook, and four grandchildren. He also leaves four brothers, Robert Layman, Detroit: Benjamin Layman, Syracuse, N. Y.; Lawrence Layman, Alexandria, Va., and George Layman, Borden Shaft; and five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Byrnes[sic], Mrs. Samuel Neat and Mrs. Ada Koelker, all of Cumberland; Mrs. C. J. Wolfe, Hagerstown, and Mrs. Fuller Davis, Frostburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the residence with Rev. Raymond Crowe, pastor of' Midland Methodist Circuit, officiating. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
