CARSON, LEVADA - on March 11, 1895, a daughter was born to JOHN LAXTON and wife PARSIDIA CHAMBERS LAXTON, whom they named LEVADA LAXTON. At the age of 16, on the first Sunday after the third Saturday in the month of May, 1911, Levada accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was received into the fellowship of the New Salem United Baptist Church as a member of that church and lived as a Christian and member of that church for over 64 years. On May 18, 1916, she was united in marriage with JOHN M. CARSON, and to this marriage was born seven children: OVIA and ODELL of Cincinnati, Ohio; ARZO of Huntsville; ARVIL of Oneida; NANNIE MAE LANE of Cincinnati, Ohio; ROSA LEE TAYLOR of Knoxville; SYLVIA PHILLIPS of Oneida. On June 18, 1975, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 7 days, she answered her appointment with death so that she might go to the place prepared for her by her Savior to whom she had committed her life so many years ago. She is survived by her beloved husband and all seven of her children. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister MARTHA CARSON, and two brothers, SHERMAN and ALVIN LAXTON, all of Oneida; a half-brother CLAUDE LAXTON of Oneida; a half-sister, GOLDIE KEETON of Oneida, together with a host of unnamed relatives, friends, and acquaintances.
