Sara Lawton Hickman, died suddenly at the young age of 28 in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, January 31, 2014. Sara was born September 23, 1985 in Virginia Beach, VA. She grew up in the Larchmont section of Norfolk and graduated from Maury High School and attended Old Dominion University. If you were blessed to share part of your life with Sara, then you knew an Angel with an ever-present smile, a "can do" attitude and a beauty that extended well beneath the outside surface. She leaves behind her beautiful daughter Layla and her life Partner Donald Gallop whom she loved immensely. Sara was the beloved Daughter of David Hickman. Sara leaves behind her mother, Robbie Hickman; brother, Trevor Scribner and his wife Bobbi; niece, Emma Scribner; grandmother, Joan Hickman; Aunt Connie and her husband Tom Cooper and Aunt Carol and her husband Mark Kiefner; and cousins, Chad, Sierra and Megan Cooper and Lauren Timberlake. A service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Larchmont United Methodist Church, 1106 Larchmont Cres., Norfolk, VA. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. and the burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA. Sara will be laid to rest next to her father, David Hickman. A memorial fund has been set up for Sara's daughter Layla and the family asks that you donate to the memorial fund in lieu of flowers.
