Lucille was born on Dec. 28, 1922, in Hedrick, the daughter of Glenn and Julia(Staton)Breon. She married Raymond R. Lawson on June 16, 1944, in Kirksville, MO.
Lucille grew up in Ottumwa and later moved to Chicago, where she graduated from Calumet High School in 1941. She was loving, quiet, intelligent and well organized. She was employed as a legal secretary in various capacities for the federal government and later worked as a legal secretary for a large law firm in Phoenix, Ariz. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, decorating cakes, playing cards and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 68 years, Ray of Bellevue; son, Mark(Daria)Lawson of Bellevue; four grandchildren, Megan(Sam)Ferrise of Nolensville, Tenn., Jeff(Sarah Hopson)Lawson of Evansdale, and Emily(Chase Medinger)Russell and Halie Russell, both of Bellevue; and two sisters, Audrey(Don)DeWitt of Phoeniz, Ariz., and Norma(Robert)Beian of Sun City West, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wally Breon.
A memorial service for Lucille will be held at 5 pm Sunday at Hachmann Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bellevue; with Pastor Marsha Wilfong officiating. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Jackson County and the staff of Mill Valley Care Center and Sunrise Villa for the great care and compassion shown to Lucille.
