Married 19 Mar 1875 in St Quivox Parish, Ayrshire, Scotland, to Elizabeth Anderson.
Children: James Anderson "Jim" Lawrie, John Anderson "Jack" Lawrie, William Anderson "Billie" Lawrie, Robert Anderson "Bub" Lawrie, and Elizabeth Anderson "Bessie" Lawrie.
They came to Illinois in 1882 where he was a blacksmith and a well digger.
He died in Plano, Kendall, Illinois, and was buried in the Little Rock Twp Cemetery there.
