Danville, Illinois - Formerly of Oswego
June Vinson, 83 of Danville, formerly of Oswego, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 1996 at Sunset Rehabilitation Center in Danville. She was born June 20, 1913 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Hiddelson) Lawrie.
Mrs. Vinson was employed at Furnas Electric Company in Batavia for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1985. She had also worked for several years as a correspondent for the Oswego Ledger newspaper in Oswego. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd of Oswego, where for many years she served as the church organist and for many years was active in the Ladies Circle of the Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet (Gary) Ross of Danville; a son, Donald (Janet) Vinson of Burlington, Iowa; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 1996 at 2 p.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego with Rev. Fred C. Eisenhut officiating. Burial will take place at the Au Sable Cemetery in Na-Au-Say Township, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. in Oswego.
