Deceased Name: LAWLOR, Ann Seward
Ann Seward, daughter of Joseph Ashton and Mary Hicks Seward of Lawrenceville, Virginia, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, in her home at Gayton Terrace, surrounded by her family and loving caregivers. She was 86 years old. Ann was a 1942 graduate of William and Mary College and a proud member of Phi Mu Sorority. She later went on to earn a Master's Degree in Library Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and was for many years the beloved and well respected librarian at Short Pump and Pemberton Elementary Schools here in Henrico County. Ann was a longtime participant in the Commonwealth Woman's Club, a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and for the last eleven years of her life, an engaged and active community member at Horizon Bay Gayton Terrace. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Harold Joseph Lawlor, a prominent local realtor who died in 2001. She is survived by her children, Eileen Mary Lawlor of Monterey, Massachusetts, Harold Seward Lawlor, together with his wife, Rebecca Lawlor, and their daughter, Claire Rebecca Ashton Lawlor, of Tidewater, Virginia, and Susie Kay Lawlor of Richmond, Virginia. All who knew Ann as a friend, co-worker or family member are asked to celebrate and remember her life at a memorial service held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 1101 Forest Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, December 15, at 3:30 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23227.
