Aubrey Scott Lawhorn, passed away April 24, 2010 at the Applingwood Nursing Home at the age of 103. She was born September 9, 1906, in Memphis, Tennessee to Charles Henry and Tullie Luellen Scott. She was a member of Central Church, the Saints Alive Sunday School class and until her illness, participated in Senior Adults. During World War II, she served her country by building rubber pontoon boats for the military and retired from Singer Sewing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy K. Lawhorn, Sr.; son, Leroy K. Lawhorn II; grandson, Leroy K. Lawhorn III; five sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Lawhorn Archer of Memphis; and her son, George C. Lawhorn (Loraine) of Collierville; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
