Preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Dr. Arnold A. Lavin, she is survived by her four children, Mark (Cheryl), Paul (Mollie), Todd (Natalie) and Glen, and her five grandchildren, Tim (Galya), Andy, Randi, Ellen, and Eric.
Irene was a brilliant individual, first earning her nursing degree, and later earning a law degree. Irene always graduated at the top of her class. Her talents and creativity matched her intellect, best exhibited by the children's stories and poems she wrote that boh entertained and delighted.
But Irene always felt her greatest accomplishment was bringing up her four sons, who blessed her with five grandchildren of whom she couldn't have been more proud. Her dedication as a mother and grandmother was unmatched. Irene was truly unique. She touched in some wonderful way, everyone who knew her. She will always be missed and remembered with thoughts of joy and love.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park.
