Anita L. Cloutier, 85, of Saco, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness. She was born in Biddeford on January 6, 1925, the daughter of Heliodore and Amanda Lariviere Laverdiere. She attended Biddeford schools graduating from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1944. On June 8, 1946 she married Raymond J. Cloutier at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. She was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish (Notre Dame and St. Joseph) all of her life.
Over the years she was employed in various administrative positions in doctors' offices, municipal offices, insurance agencies as well as having work for several years at Pepperell Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1968.
Anita enjoyed reading, playing cards and making jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted grandmother supporting and cheering on her grandchildren in the various activities they participated in over the years.
She was predeceased in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond J. Cloutier, who passed away in 2002.
She is survived by a son, Michael Cloutier and his wife Brenda of Salina, Kansas, two daughters, Carol Kennie and her husband Steve of Summerfield, Florida, and Patricia
Paquette and her husband Michael of Saco; three grandsons, Christopher Paquette and his wife Holly of Old Orchard Beach, Jason Paquette and his wife Jennifer of South Portland, and Heath Kennie and his fiancee Michelle Outlaw of Summerfield, Florida; and a granddaughter, Cpl. Halie Kennie serving in the U.S. Marines stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina. She is also survived by one sister, Rachel Brewer of Saco, one nephew, Renald Breton and his wife Claire of Wells, and two nieces, Penny Beaupre and her husband Roger and Cindy Caron and her husband Ed, all of Biddeford.
Visiting Hours will be from 2-4PM, 6-8PM Sunday at Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James Streets, Saco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM Monday at St. Andre's Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
