DIANE YVONNE LAVALLA
Diane Yvonne Lavalla, 46, of Wilder, Vt., died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 21, 1961, in Littleton, Colo., daughter of Albert and Marveen (Peterson) Miller. She was raised in Littleton and graduated from Littleton High School.
She married Michael Lavalla on July 11, 1981, in Sheridan, Colo. In 1985, they moved to Vermont. She was employed at Dothan Brook Elementary School and also provided administrative assistance to Woodstock Learning Trust.
Diane was best known for her love of her family and friends, her Christian faith and her devotion to the staff and students at the Dothan Brook Elementary School. She was also a highly accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, Michael, and their three children, Angela, Scott, and Craig, and their precious dog Anna, all of Wilder, Vt.; her mother, Marveen Bates of Littleton, Colo.; a brother, Douglas Miller and family of Castle Rock, Colo.; a sister, Denise Chiappini and family of Reno, Nev.; a half-brother, Donnie Miller and family of Phoenix, Ariz.; a step-brother, Daniel Pace of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Suzanne and Kenneth Lavalla; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Doni and Scott Longley and family, and Joanne Lavalla-Fuller and family, all of Richford, Vt.; Jamie Lavalla and family of Georgia, Vt. She was predeceased by her father, Albert Miller.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at Valley Bible Church in White River Junction at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the church. Burial will take place at All Saints in Richford.
