Mrs. Childs was a very involved member of First Baptist Church of Morrow for many years. Mrs. Childs was a Deacon of the Church, secretary of Sunday School Classes at First Baptist Church of Morrow, Church Clerk, worked vacation Bible school at First Baptist Church of Morrow & University Baptist Church in Amhurst, NY and was a member of the Silver Tones Choir.
Mrs. Mary Childs was a teacher in the Clayton County School district for 20 years, was a championship master bridge player and was a BIG fan of The University of Georgia Bulldogs football.
Mrs. Childs is survived by: 3 Sons & wives: David Lewis & Sherry Childs of Lawrenceville, GA, Kenneth Lamar & Angelia Childs of Auburn, GA, Marvin Laurens & Terri Childs of Williamson, GA; 17 Grandchildren & 35 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Dorothy Yarbrough Thrower.
Mrs. Childs is preceded in death by: Her Husband: Asa Lamar Childs; 2 Brothers: Charles Cook Laurens, Jr & Robert Scott Laurens.
